The service behind the project

Three screens from the digital stylist prototype: the shop menu, creating the style profile and the catalogue filtered by the profile
Project context. Ruth Lara Vives’s own project, built around the online shop of an international fashion chain. It was not commissioned by the brand and has not been implemented. The screens show a proposal, not an available product.

Act 01

The challenge

The challenge

The proposal starts from a question: how do you help someone find pieces that suit their style and their needs inside a very large catalogue?

The project sets out a digital styling function built into the shopping experience, rather than a separate tool people have to discover on their own.

Act 02

What was done

The idea

Create a profile with preferences, fit information and style references to guide recommendations.

The proposal combines visual discovery — choosing looks you like — with more concrete personalisation tools such as size or body shape.

How it developed

The work brings together audience and context analysis, an assessment of opportunities and limitations, a functionality proposal and a set of screens.

The flow runs through the Smart Fit introduction, profile creation and product search filtered by that profile.

Act 03

What it shows, and what it doesn't

What it demonstrates

Product strategy, feature hierarchy and experience direction. The screens make it possible to assess the thinking and the whole journey.

The expected benefits, such as improving fit or reducing returns, are objectives of the concept. They are not measured results.

The next question

The next step would be testing the flow with users: what information they are willing to share, what helps them choose, and how to explain why a garment is recommended.

That validation is not documented as having been carried out.
